Welcome to The Big Scoop! The first for me and Italian Ice Cream. I plan to inform you about Italian Ice Cream the business and the products we make. Yes, we make everything here! We source the best ingredients to produce the best product possible. We are not perfect, but we strive to be the best, il migliore(Italian) or le mieux(French). The judges are you, my customers, my friends and my family!
My parents started the business in 1978, and are entering our 37th year of business. Over the years, we have evolved to the current times. With each change, we always stayed true to my dad’s philosophy and now mine, “use the best ingredients to make the best product”. So we use what nature gives us and the Niagara Region has great offerings for that!
This past year we officially became licensed as a Provincially Licensed Dairy Plant. What that means is we can sell our gelato anywhere in Ontario and I have strict guidelines on what I can and cannot do, when producing gelato for the public. Don’t think negatively, it is a good thing. We should be thankful that our government has guidelines to protect the public. I will talk more about this in the future.
